CivilDana L. Winalis P.O.
Box 633, Manchester, MI Phone: 734-945-3536 Current Experience Tetra Tech: From 1999 to Present (Currently) Brighton, Michigan Civil Technician/GIS My varied experience with Tetra Tech, which includes
GIS, field technician work, CADD, database design/management and work as a survey
technician, brings a unique and well versed problem-solving approach to GIS
applications. I have used GIS, specifically ESRI ArcGIS 9.x, ArcGIS
10.x, ArcView 3.x, and ArcCatalog, for mapping of projects, asset management,
presentations and design drawings. GIS EXPERIENCE Environmental Assessment – We created a compilation of data that we were
then able to evaluate through GIS to discern what features fell in the 100
Year Flood Plain, Wetlands, Soils and buffer Water Bodies. Through a
series of queries we found piping and bore pits that were in potential
conflict and would need to be addressed for construction phase of project for
Consumers Energy, Jackson, Michigan. Sewer Index Maps – Created a catalog of as-built drawings in GIS. Drew rectangle of
location of design CAD drawings into GIS environment. Linked scanned drawings
to the rectangles for availability on the web. Performed data entry of
pertinent data for scanned drawings into geodatabase. Clients include Macomb
County, Sault Ste. Marie and Lansing, Michigan. Out-of-state client for this
kind of work included Atlanta, Georgia. Water and Sewer Map Conversions - Reviewed existing pipe data for update and
incorporation into master GIS dataset. Updated field data for
Conforming to Construction Record Drawings in GIS as needed. Incorporated
GPS, CAD data, and paper record data to create sewer and water networks.
Created catalog of as-built drawings. Fulfilled client requests for data
entry of information into geodatabases. Clients include Marion, Howell,
Oceola and Genoa (MHOG) Townships, Macomb County, Sault Ste. Marie and
Lansing, Michigan. Out-of-state clients for this kind of work included
Atlanta, Georgia and Minneola, Florida. Combined Sewer Overflow, City of Lansing (Technician
on 21 projects) - This includes GIS
mapping during the conceptual and design phases for sewer separation projects
for the City of Lansing, Michigan to illustrate project boundaries and piping
layout. I have utilized GIS for phasing maps on long-term projects to
illustrate work completed and planned. I have developed databases that track
results of private property inspections for private inflow/infiltration
programs and used GIS to illustrate the properties in compliance and those
that require follow-up. A similar database was utilized in conjunction with
GIS to map properties that have specific concerns relative to the project
purpose in correlation to questionnaires received from project owners. I
created figures for the Basis of Design reports using GIS to indicate the
results from the investigations. OTHER EXPERIENCE Inflow/Infiltration Investigation - Worked with the project engineer during field
investigations of several private property and public sewer inspections, line
locations, dye testing and manhole investigations. Management of Databases – Designed databases for tracking of project
quantities, questionnaire results, and televising results. Designed databases
for the storage of accumulated data and to produce reader-friendly reports representing
data collected. Created databases specific to presented problems so data can
be easily accessed for other purposes (i.e., design issues, GIS). Construction Accounting Administration – Provided this service on various construction
projects. Responsibilities included preparing all proposal requests, work
change directives, and change orders as directed by the construction manager.
Prepared all contractor pay estimates for these projects by compiling data
submitted by the resident project representatives. Survey -
Created drawings by the conversion of the field data received by surveyor
into Eagle Point which then created contours and topography and ultimately a
CAD drawing. This also entailed download of data from Total Station and
conversion. CAD representation of information for
presentations/design work/quantity take offs/graphics for reports. Other Company Experience Rosser International: From 1989 to 1998 Atlanta, Georgia Civil Design/CAD Drafter While employed with this company my duties included
using drafting/design experience – My stay there incorporated the use of
CAD. The main disciplines that I used CAD for were
landscape/architecture and civil with some crossover to survey and
structural. There was occasion to also help out with production of
sewer modeling and report compilation for hydrology reports. Much of our work
dealt with the Army Corp of Engineers. Sundberg, Carlson and Associates: From 1984 to
1988 Marquette, MI Interior Designer/Draftsperson My employment here began with initiating an Interior
Design Department. This entailed creating client contacts, accumulation
of a samples library and maintaining it to keep current. I accompanied
the architect to meetings to work with clients to create an aesthetically
pleasing environment to meet their needs. Concurrently with the interior
design, I was also responsible for CAD/hand drafting of architectural
drawings, both interior and exterior. When work in the architectural/interiors group was
light, I stepped forward to offer drafting help to the other
disciplines. At this point the drafting experience became varied where,
when needed, I would be drafting for structural, electrical, mechanical,
civil and survey. Eventually, the main disciplines I chose to draft
for were civil and survey, occasionally helping out with the others when
needed. Education B.S.,
